I have heard it said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Obviously, it is time to do things differently. For several years I have been producing underwater videos and, even though well received, the sales have barely covered production costs, let alone covering equipment costs and depreciation, travel expenses, time involved and, of course, the reason we conduct a business in the first place...profit.
My most recent creation, the "Visions of Lembeh" DVD was released this week and sales were dismal to say the least. The test market group was comprised of scuba enthusiasts and underwater photographers but sales were limited to only 20% of the audience even though the DVD was priced, in my opinion, at a low point of only $20.
